02 — Η Φωνή Ανάμεσα στις Ελιές

ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΜΗΧΑΝΗ – ΑΕΙΦΟΡΟΣ ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗ

Μια ζωντανή μουσική καταγραφή λίγο πριν από τη δύση του ήλιου.

Η στιγμή

Επέστρεψα στο ίδιο δέντρο, ανάμεσα στις ελιές, και ηχογράφησα ξανά ένα νέο τραγούδι που ακόμη δεν έχει τίτλο.

Ήταν λίγα λεπτά πριν από τη δύση του ήλιου. Είχα πάει στο χωράφι για να κόψω χόρτα και, πριν φύγω, κάθισα με την κιθάρα.

Αυτή τη φορά θέλησα η καταγραφή να μείνει όσο γίνεται πιο κοντά στην πραγματική στιγμή: φωνή, κιθάρα και ο ήχος του τόπου, χωρίς πρόσθετα ηχητικά εφέ.

Στην αρχή ακούγονται για λίγο και τα πουλιά. Όχι όμως όπως τα άκουγα εγώ εκείνη τη στιγμή.

Τι ζούμε — και τι τελικά καταγράφει η μηχανή;

Το μικρόφωνο επιλέγει. Η κάμερα επιλέγει. Η τεχνολογία κρατά ένα μέρος της εμπειρίας και αφήνει ένα άλλο έξω από την καταγραφή.

Κι όμως, εκείνη τη στιγμή υπήρχαν όλα μαζί: η μουσική, η γη, το φως που έπεφτε, τα πουλιά, η κούραση της ημέρας και η ανθρώπινη παρουσία.

Η «Φωνή Ανάμεσα στις Ελιές» είναι η δεύτερη δημιουργία της σειράς «ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΜΗΧΑΝΗ – ΑΕΙΦΟΡΟΣ ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗ», μιας καλλιτεχνικής αναζήτησης γύρω από τη σχέση του ανθρώπου με τον ήχο, τη φύση, την τεχνολογία και το περιβάλλον μέσα στο οποίο ζει.

Το τραγούδι δεν έχει ακόμη τίτλο

02 — The Voice Among the Olive Trees

A live musical recording shortly before sunset.

The moment

I returned to the same tree, among the olive trees, and recorded once again a new song that still has no title.

It was only a few minutes before sunset. I had gone to the field to cut the grass and, before leaving, I sat down with my guitar.

This time I wanted the recording to remain as close as possible to the actual moment: voice, guitar and the sound of the place, without additional audio effects.

At the beginning, the birds can be heard for a few moments. But not in the way I was hearing them while I was there.

What do we experience — and what does the machine actually record?

The microphone selects. The camera selects. Technology preserves one part of an experience while leaving another part outside the recording.

And yet, in that moment, everything was there together: the music, the earth, the fading light, the birds, the tiredness of the day and the human presence.

“The Voice Among the Olive Trees” is the second work in the series “HUMAN AND MACHINE – SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”, an artistic exploration of the relationship between human beings, sound, nature, technology and the environment in which we live.

For now, I am leaving it unnamed.
